Dear Park View Families,
Welcome to Park View Elementary School. I am Jim Schuller and as Principal of Park View Elementary School, it is my honor and pleasure to be a part of a great school community.
Now a bit about myself - Before coming to Park View, my professional career has been a web of opportunities. I was born in Iowa and attended a small private college in Sioux Center Iowa. My BA degree was in secondary Social Studies with a minor in Physical Education. After graduating, my wife and I decided to move out of the cold blustery climate of Iowa and my first teaching position was in a small private school in Monroe, WA. While there, I had the opportunity to teach grades 3-8 in all subjects. After 3 years of constant rain, we moved to Ripon, where I taught for 16 years at Ripon Christian Schools. I taught junior high social studies, high school geography, economics, and mock trial while coaching and being the high school athletic director. For the next ten years, I had the opportunity to be the Dean of Students, Athletic Director, and lead administrator in charge of the alternative education programs for the Hughson Unified School District. While there I completed my Master’s degree in school administration with a second degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I then moved to the Stanislaus Union School District and was the principal of Agnes Baptist Elementary for 5 years. The winds of change called and I took a position within the Merced High School district and worked with inner-city students at Merced High School. When the call came to throw my name in the hat for the principal’s position at Park View, I felt as if I was being called home to Ripon where I have lived for over 30 years.
I truly believe that communication is the key to a successful educational experience. Together, we will continue to improve the quality of our school community and provide the best for the children of Park View Elementary School. Education is a partnership between the school, students, parents/guardians, and the community. All children are more successful when we work as a team to achieve educational goals. Please let us know if there are problems, concerns, or an area for us to celebrate together. My door is open and I enjoy the opportunity to talk to parents/guardians to do the best for every child.
I look forward to a great year and working with you to help your child have a successful year at school.
