COVID-19 Update - School Dismissal Extended to Monday, April 20th
Message on behalf of Superintendent Robeson
March 25, 2020
Dear Ripon USD Staff, (Please note a voicemail message and email message is being sent to families-in English and Spanish-same message)
San Joaquin County Superintendent of Schools James Mousalimas today announced a recommendation to extend the closure of all public schools in San Joaquin County through Friday, April 17, 2020, to help stop the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The action follows public orders to stay at home issued by the Governor of California on March 19 and by San Joaquin County's Public Health Officer and its Emergency Services Director on March 21.
Ripon Unified School District, along with the other school districts in our county, will be observing this extension. We want to let you know that as of today, the Ripon USD schools are now scheduled to reopen on Monday, April 20, 2020. Grab and Go meals are being offered at this time, until Friday, April 3rd. The meals will begin again on Tuesday, April 14th and be served through Friday, April 17th. Please note during the regularly scheduled Spring Break meals will not be served.
We realize this is a confusing time and you still have many questions. We will continue to communicate as we have factual information to share. We hope everyone is staying well and truly look forward to seeing all the staff and students back on our school campuses! Thank you for your continued support and patience.
Attached to this email is the letter/press release from Mr. Mousalimas, the County Superintendent of Schools.
