Welcome to My Page

My philosophy:

  1. Work hard. It's about progress, not perfection

  2. Be open to new ideas, but know your values.

  3. Your knowledge is the one thing that nobody can ever take away from you and it will shape your life. Spend time to develop it.

  4. You are the future. Be invested in your world and committed to making it a better place.

  5. Be the best version of yourself.

I love teaching sixth graders-personally I think they are just the best! This will be my tenth -year teaching Sixth at Park View. I promised that we will have A LOT of fun this year. But, we are also going to be working very hard. In sixth grade, I treat you like a young adult- it is a step up from fifth grade, but I am confident that you will be able to handle it. Students will learn to build and maintain good study habits, which are essential to their academic success now and in the years to come. As you get to know me, you’ll realize that I will expect a lot from you but I will be working alongside you to help you get there.

My favorite subject to teach is Social Studies, so you can expect I will really go out of my way to help you develop a love for this subject! We’ll talk about assassinations, how to fight in the ancient world, mummies, emperors, gods and goddesses, and so much more. As we travel through time this year- I’ll tell you all sorts of stories and interesting facts to “spice it up”. In my class, History is not about names and dates, its an interwoven story about people, politics, and human motivation. Our classroom setup is different than you are used to so you will need to be extra responsible with your belongings. I am an active teacher so you can expect to do a bit of acting, have a lot of fun, and work in groups. I truly believe in every single one of you and am beyond thrilled to be your teacher this year. Let’s have an “unbe- LEAF- able Year in Sixth!
